What's included
The 50-hour immersion
Over the six-month immersion, you will receive a comprehensive 50-hour training workbook, drawing on Rose Baudin’s lecture notes and teachings distilled from more than fifty years of study, practice and direct experience.
Together, we will explore the foundations of India’s classical darshanas, while examining how these timeless teachings can be applied to the realities of our daily lives. Through the lens of our relationships, struggles, desires, challenges and aspirations, we will investigate what these teachings reveal about the human condition and how they can support a more conscious and meaningful way of living.
Through study, reflection, discussion and direct experience, we will work both individually and as a group to integrate these teachings in ways that are practical, transformative and deeply relevant to contemporary life.
This immersion is not simply about acquiring knowledge. It is an invitation to embody the teachings, deepen your own practice, and discover how yoga can become a living path of inquiry, self-understanding and transformation. Along the way, you will develop the confidence, discernment and understanding to practise yoga in a way that is authentic, genuine and rooted in your own direct experience.
Pre-recorded teachings
The immersion includes a curated library of recorded talks with Rose Baudin, exploring the great themes of the yogic tradition: consciousness, desire, the subtle body, Tantra, meditation and practice, and the profound depth and everyday mysticism that can emerge when we learn to meet life with greater awareness and attention.
6 days in India
The retreat includes all classes and philosophy sessions, gentle mountain treks, traditional pujas, external trips to the village and local temple, home-cooked Keralan cuisine (breakfast, lunch and dinner included) and space to receive Ayurvedic treatments on site (treatments at additional cost).
Accessible walks through spice gardens and sandalwood forests.
External trips into the local village, held simply and respectfully as part of the immersion.
Optional treatments and consultations with local Ayurvedic practitioners, arranged on site.

Your guides
An immersive collaboration between mentor and mentee, woven through friendship, practice, and a living lineage.
Rose Baudin first travelled to India in the late 1960s as part of a generation of seekers drawn east in search of deeper spiritual understanding. In 1971 she met Swami Gauribala Giri in Sri Lanka and was later initiated into the parampara of the Tamil Siddhas in 1984. During the sixteen years she lived in India, her practice was shaped by immersion in a range of yogic and contemplative traditions. Her meditation training included guidance from some of the most respected teachers of the twentieth century, including S.N. Goenka (Vipassana), Zen Master Hogen-san Yamahata (Soto Zen), Sayadaw U Janaka (Insight Meditation), His Holiness the Dalai Lama (Kalachakra), and Jiddu Krishnamurti. Now in her 79th year and with more than five decades of teaching experience, Rose is an internationally respected and sought-after teacher. Known for her warmth, honesty, humour, and refreshingly direct approach, she has inspired generations of students through her ability to communicate profound teachings in a way that is both accessible and deeply human.
Rose Lamont is a yoga and meditation practitioner, teacher and co-founder of Ritual Studios (est. 2015), with over fifteen years of teaching experience. Her work is informed by the study and practice of Raja Yoga, Hatha Yoga, meditation, and modern postural yoga, including Iyengar Yoga and Katonah Yoga. She facilitates international Yoga Teacher Trainings, retreats, and specialised courses in pranayama, meditation and philosophy. A long-time student and close friend of Rose Baudin, Rose is passionate about exploring the intersection of practice, philosophy, creativity, and meaningful living. Alongside her teaching, she hosts her own podcast and works across writing and documentary filmmaking as a way of exploring the deeper questions of how we live, age, relate, and make meaning in contemporary life. Her work is grounded in a commitment to sincere practice, ongoing study, inquiry, and the direct experience of yoga as a living tradition.
“What the books taught me, I’ve practised.Vakh by Lal Ded / Lalleshwari
What they didn’t teach me, I’ve taught myself.
I’ve gone into the forest and wrestled with the lion.
I didn’t get this far by teaching one thing and doing another.”
Why now
Rose Baudin has practised since the late 1960s and was initiated into the parampara of the Tamil Siddhas in 1984. In 2027 she turns 80. This immersion is a rare, intimate opportunity to learn from her directly — her teachings, stories and wisdom — while they can still be shared in this way.
A documentary about Rose Baudin’s life and teachings is currently in production, and some filming may take place in India. Participants are warmly invited to be interviewed while in India — and anyone who prefers not to appear on camera is completely free to opt out, with no impact on their experience.
Just 9 luxury bungalows for a maximum of 15 guests, preserving space for silence, depth of transmission and authentic connection.
The complete immersion is accredited as a 50-Hour Yoga Alliance Certified Training in Yoga Philosophy. Graduates may register the hours toward continuing education or advanced pathways.
After the retreat, those who wish may continue travelling together through India for a further week of exploration, integration and friendship.
